Summer at the Switch Yard

August 4, 2015

Summer updates!
Our first Switch Yard Ball Hockey House League season has come to an end. The finals were played on Monday, July 20th, with three teams reigning champs in their divisions.
The league operated on Monday nights from May 11th to July 20th from 6:30pm to 9:30pm at North Hastings Community Center.  For its first year, we saw 105 participants in the 3 divisions – we felt this was an amazing turnout, and with the excitement and interest generated this year, next year should be even bigger!

Many thanks go out to our league sponsors: Boyer Auto Group and Gaebel Insurance, as well as Pepin’s No Frills for donating the championship medals.  Also, thanks goes to Freymond Lumber for donating the 4×4 barriers, Graphite Bible Camp and other individuals who helped provide goalie equipment, and Ron and Steve at North Hastings Community Center for all of their work.  Finally, from everyone at the Switch Yard, we want to say a huge thanks to our volunteers who generously gave of their time to coach or run the time clock.
